Loosely categorized levels of manuscript services are determined and explained in your MANUSCRIPT REPORT:

EDIT

This involves making changes or suggestions at the sentence or phrase level. This is preparing a text or manuscript that has been read by others and revised. This is tweaking a revised manuscript before review by an agent, publisher, or for print. Fiction or Non-Fiction. Fees are based on a per page or per word basis. Work in this range usually costs less than $8.00 per page.

REVISION

This is ‘doctoring’ of a manuscript that is less intensive than a rewrite but more involved than an edit. Revision is making or suggesting paragraph and even chapter level changes. This is usually for drafts that have been reworked once by the author. Fiction or Non-Fiction. Fees are based on a per page or per word basis. Work in this range usually costs in the range of $8- 16 US per page.

REWRITE

This is more intensive than revision and involves transforming that rough ‘first draft’ into an engaging meaningful text. Project may include providing additional content and structural fixes (i.e. move chapters, reorganize narrative, support assertions). This is usually spinning rough first draft content into refined, well organized, flowing content. When you’ve reached the end of getting it all down and now simply want to hand it off. Fiction or Non-Fiction. Fees are based on a per page, or per word basis. Work in this range usually costs in the range of $16-24 US per page. 

RECONSTRUCTION

This is the ‘other’ category. Fees are determined on a case by case basis.
